95AB6961-396E-4118-A262-77549B6C71BE.jpegI’m on this whole better skin health kick and so I’ve been on the hunt for a nice mask I could use on pamper days.

I’m so glad I came across the L’Oréal Paris pure Clay Masks. I think the concept is brilliant. I have oily combination skin with uneven skin tone in some places. So the fact that I could get an affordable system of treatments for each of the specific areas of my face was a bonus.

Green Purity Mask – I use this on my T-zone. It helps to mattify these areas which, for me, are prone to shine. I like the tingly effect it has, it makes me feel like it’s working, ha! The active ingredient is eucalyptus.

Black Detox Mask – the active ingredient is Charcoal and there was a major buzz around this stuff last year. It gets rid of the impurities and acts as a deep cleanse. I apply this one to my cheeks as this is where I am prone to any spots I might get. I think for this area of my face I could also use the Blue Blemish Mask, the active ingredient is Blue algae, it’s meant to unclog pores and clear blackheads. I think I might go back and get this one too.

Yellow Bright Mask – this is made with yuzu lemon and it’s the one I’m was super interested in. I’ve really been after a way to even my skin tone without resorting to lightening creams – I’m scared shitless of those, some say they have carcinogenic properties and that aside, there have been people going round with less than attractive complexions – even more uneven.

I’m fundamentally opposed to people trying to make themselves lighter just to be more socially acceptable, society needs to accept the full spectrum of skin tones, but that can’t happen if we don’t even accept ourselves. That said, I don’t see anything wrong with evening yourself out so to speak and if you choose to. No makeup days are definitely a lot easier if you have even skin tone.

The only one I haven’t mentioned is the Red Detox Mask. To me this has similar properties to the yellow one. Both have exfoliating particles, but this one is more about brightening your overall complexion rather than evening out your skin tone.

I’m interested to know if any other skin treatments. I really want to start trying peels and things, but I know nothing. If you have any advice or want to let me know what you thought of the Pure Clay Masks, please comment.

Boots is offering 3 for 2 at the moment on these!

Yep they’re great. I really like the charcoal one in the L’Oréal range for drawing out the impurities! ????
