I’d like to think I’ve always had a good sense of style. From my year 9 English essay on the then current haute couture fashion trends, to me now power dressing for work. If you’ve seen my Instagram you’ll know I love a leather skirt. I’ll then pair it with a fitted top and heels.
I’ve started researching how to dress for my body type. Apparently, I’m an inverted triangle – wide shoulders and narrow hips. Now I understand why every bardot and cold shoulder top makes me look like a rugby player. As far as my style goes, I like a chic classic look, but with a modern edge. I don’t usually go for patterns but I’d like to explore.
I found this article useful The Guide to Bodyshapes – they have specific pages for each body type at the bottom.
I can’t wait to reach my goal weight, my clothes are already starting to get loose. After that, the plan is to revamp my style … well slightly upgrade it.
As I get older I realise I want to buy more high quality items. Don’t get me wrong everyone can do with Primani’s finest every now and again. That said, do I really need 10 tops that wash terribly, then die in my drawer before going to charity shop heaven? Uh, no!
I love this hand bag. I’ve had it a few weeks now and it’s become a staple. Paired with my Vivienne Westwood flats, which are super comfortable by the way, I have the perfect commuter combo.
Looking forward to seeing how my creativity manifests itself over time. I’ve neglected it for so long.
What’s your style? Are you planning a change like me?
