When it comes to fashion, for me it’s all about the third piece. Yes, you can throw on any top and bottom, but the thing that really makes the outfit is what you add to it. Bearing in mind a third piece can be anything, I keep being drawn to waistcoats. Whether long or short, I really think they can elevate an outfit.

IMG_0535I picked this one up from a Marks & Spencer’s outlet in Birmingham. It’s 98% cotton and has a corduroy look to it, I just love the button detail. I paired it with the striped shirt from Zara and an old H&M skirt – all together I had the perfect workday outfit.

IMG_0544As I mentioned, I like long ones too. Ok, technically it’s a gilet, but the premise is the same.

This one is from Topshop and is super flattering on my figure. I wore it with black trousers from Marks and a high necked top from Zara. The items were in the sale and I don’t think they would be available now, but this is easy to mirror. You can find similar items on the high street.

In fact I literally just trawled Asos looking for one and spotted this  Jaeger Double Breasted Gilet its in Navy Blue and I can see it as another staple this season. It’s still available and at £59.50 reduced from £199 I’d say it’s a bargain – yes, I bought it.  It’s 98% wool which should keep me warm and it’s good value for money. I can’t wait for it to arrive.

    Whats your favourite third piece

The link above is an affiliate link to Asos. This just means I get some form of recognition or potential cash if you click it. This doesn’t mean much at this point, I have like 20 followers… ????
