The festive season may be over-ish, but it’s still bloody freezing out. Here are two of my favourite coats I’ve picked up recently.
Well the first one, if you know me you’ll know I’ve deliberated about getting this coat for so long. First I fell in love with the Acne Studios one, but when I saw the price tags I was like “ok, that’s goals”, then I convinced myself I needed the All Saints one that was in the sale for around the £600 markback in November – luckily I came to my senses before I took out my bank card, phew! In the end I went to the high street, via my laptop, and purchased this Biker Jacket from Zara. At a fraction of the cost of the other two, I figured it’s worth test driving it now before investing in a better quality one in seasons to come.
I was undecided about getting it in the first place because literally everyone has one, but I just love the style of it. I bought mine in a size small and I think it fits perfectly. This one will definitely be seeing me through the cold weeks to come.
The second is more of a jacket than a coat. I was shopping in the River Island sale and spotted this, Padded Faux Fur Collar Jacket on a rail amongst the jumble. I grabbed it and it was in a size 10, I was so excited thinking it was in the sale only for my cousin to point out a whole rack of them in the full priced section, gutted. That said, I loved it enough to buy it anyway.
For me this will be a good transitional jacket as we head in to spring, it’s warm but not too thick. Spring seems far away, but it will be here before you know it.
I think this jacket looks great with jeans whether open or buttoned up. I love the faux fur detailing on the collar which is detachable. I also love that it has a zip for an extra snug fit.
