  • Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

As some of my long standing readers may know, I have Keratin treated hair and I love it. All has been well and good until, I got pregnant then things started to change.

In the vein of being my most authentic self and in a bid to share something that might help others, I thought in today’s post I’d touch on dandruff. It’s a little taboo really, let’s face it, it’s not cute at all. Whilst I’ve always had dry scalp I’ve never experienced actual dandruff until recently. I put it down to a change in hormones since falling pregnant. Well, it’s true! I never had it before so that must be the reason right?

Well then I had an issue. How do you deal with dandruff when you have Keratin treated hair? The problem is all the anti-dandruff shampoos have sulphate in them and I’m not about to wash out my £150 treatment. Anyway, I did what I do best and I googled and the brand Moroccan Oil kept coming up. Specifically the Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner It’s Sulfate-free, phosphate-free and paraben-free. It also contains keratin to rebuild and strengthen damaged hair. You can read all that on the website, honestly, aside from the dandruff which isn’t quite gone yet, I love the texture of my hair when I use it and the smell is amazing. My hair is smooth and doesn’t tangle or clump when I wash it.

Whilst a little pricey, I’m currently washing my hair twice a week, but because it lathers well and the Conditioner is thick and creamy, you don’t have to use much. I really recommend this product and I wish I had started using it when I was fully natural as it really smooths the hair.

I think my excess dandruff is hormonal and pregnancy related, I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis on my face (another blog post all together) but this presents in my hair as really bad dandruff. I’m working to get it under control by keeping my scalp clean and moisturised. I’ve been using the Moroccan Oil products for just under two weeks and it’s made a big difference so I’m going to carry on with it.

Have you used Moroccan Oil products before. I’d love to know in the comments.
