  • My London Fashion Week Experience

Probably should have posted this a few days ago, but hey, I’m a busy lady! Anyway, enough excuses. So last Friday I went to my first ever Fashion week show. Now, sadly I wasn’t invited by a brand – all things in good time, nope I bought ticket the old fashioned way. Well if old fashioned means I have a mate who is organised enough to remember it’s the #LFWF, send me a link to the ticket and arrange a group outing months in advance, and breathe!

The whole thing could best be described as a nice surprise. When I bought said ticket, I had no idea what show I was seeing, or what to expect from fashion week in general. We met up at 180 The Strand in London after work. I really would advise getting a bite to eat beforehand if you’re seeing an evening show. When we went in, we collected our tickets and then entered a fashion lovers dream.

What I really didn’t expect was that there would be stalls set up by popular brands selling everything from high street to high end. If I go again I’d definitely be more prepared to splash the cash. That said, it was great to walk around and look at all the pieces. I’d say the whole thing was almost an ikea style set up, you go in one way and at the end you can buy a hotdog, well a glass of champagne or something delicious to eat from Feya (if you manage to get there before it closes). It was so lovely to sit there and catch up before the show.

It turned out that we were booked in to see the Katherine Hamnett show. She’s a known fashion pioneer, responsible for bringing out some of the most famous slogan Ts like, Choose Life and more recently Cancel Brexit. The show was fab and I found myself getting expired by it all.

I hope this is my last fashion week experience. Who knows, one day I could be invited, how cool would that be!
