  • My New Walk-in Wardrobe

We’ve been hard at work over the last few months prepping the house for baby bubs arrival and we’re not quite finished yet. We still want to get our bedroom done before his due date next month. It would be so nice to bring him home to a freshly painted and decorated room. We’ve already finished the nursery, just waiting for my Tutti Bambini nursery set to arrive and to get some final bits to dress the room. All that aside, the room we’ve done most recently is my walk in wardrobe.

A few years ago, we converted an unused box room in to a room I could store my clothes. I honestly believe this room has been a relationship saviour. Mr and I are not exactly morning people so to be able to get ready for work separately is a God send.

The room was nothing fancy though and at some point my dad came down and put up a shelf and a rail. For some reason back then we painted it cream and then there was a pink/coral feature wall. I don’t even like pink so not sure how that happened. Nonetheless, I’ve always been grateful for the space.

Last year I started to get the DIY bug when I found out I was having a baby- call it nesting, but in the face of bubs newly decorated nursery everything else started to look drab. That was part of the impetus, but also, as a style blogger it’s nice to be able to appropriately store your clothes and take cool dressing rooms selfies of course, ha!

This time round, I decided to go for a black and white theme. This will allow me to have the most neutral background possible. We also went for Ikea Pax wardrobes in white. I love the versatility of this system. You can leave them open or put doors on and the interior is completely customisable.

It’s only a small space so it was a risk opting for floor to ceiling wardrobes, but I need the storage. There’s still a whole load of summer stuff under my bed for me to go through. I’m really happy with the outcome and over the next few months I plan to add a few more decorative bits and really get a feel for how best to optimise the space. I also need to find good shoe display boxes, I’m think Perspex with black trim.
