Happy Tuesday! I can’t believe it’s nearly March, the year is just flying by. The season is beginning to change and my mind is starting to focus on getting pieces that I can transition in to spring. That said, this week I appear to be drawn to black.

I have been eyeing up &OtherStories for months and after a quick browse, I realise I really love their stuff. It’s a little pricey, but as I’ve said before sometimes you get what you pay for. These days I’m definitely buying less but better.

I really want to feature style tips and ideas. My body type is “inverted triangle” so anything A-line, v-neck or waist cinching tends to work well for me. Let me know if you would be interested to read more structured posts on styling for you body type.

Everyone needs a good Chelsea boot and this leather pair would go with absolutely everything.

I am desperate for a cream denim skirt for summer. I’m really drawn to neutrals at the moment so this pencil style one would go with a lot of things. I would pair this with a cream blouse and do the whole monochrome thing.

Of course I can’t decide between two very similar skirts. I love the asymmetric cut and fringing which adds a little extra detail. I’m thinking a darker top and those Chelsea boots I mentioned earlier.

This blouse is just gorgeous. I love the jacquard print which adds a more luxe vibe. When working with all black outfits, texture and pattern are both excellent ways to make your look more exciting.

I think this top would work great with black jeans or leather trousers, but these high waisted black cutoffs would be my choice, with a statement heel of course. The trousers need to fit like a glove then I’d tuck the shirt in to create a cinched silhouette.

Resisting the urge to purchase this kimono style dress is super hard. The wrap over style is likely to be flattering to most. I love the contrast stitching which takes away the boring black dress factor. I see this as being super versatile. You could pull on a roll neck and tights for the weather right now or go bare legged in the spring.

I love the idea of this velvet dress with the contrast sleeve. It’s statement enough to wear as is with boots, or rock dome flat forms with statement jewellery.

I hope you liked this post. Let me know if you like any of my choices. Tap each picture to go through to &OtherStories to purchase.
