Something I have come across time and again recently, while looking for fashion inspiration, is the humble pencil skirt. I say humble, but we all know a women can look super hot in a pencil skirt, but also classy and sophisticated. now these are all words you would normally associate with a pencil skirt, but this Spring, we will start using words like casual, loose comfortable. Who would have thought!

If you’ve been following me on Instagram you may have seen me feature this outfit. I’ve styled it up two ways – Spring might just about be nipping at our heels, but it’s still a ways off so, let’s do a bit of layering and wear it right now!

I picked this skirt up from River Island, it is the mid blue colour and has a split up the front with an asymmetric stitch detail. The fabric is quite stretchy which definitely adds to the comfort factor. I also picked up this Cream tank top from River Island. I love the fabric it’s really soft.

For the Spring version of the outfit I’ve simply tucked the top in and attempted to cinch my waist with a belt and then paired the whole thing with some bright wrap tie court shoes. The outfit is fairly simple so I think the statement shoe just makes the outfit. I want more of these for Spring and Mango has a White contrast version, that I love and have linked below.

That’s all well and good, but it’s still freezing in London, so to wear this right now I threw on my Jaeger Denim shirt and some greige over the knee boots. Loving the result here!

I love your fashion posts! I’ve been looking for a great new pencil skirt. They’re perfect because you can wear them to work and they look very fashionable. Do you have any other recommended trends that are corporate friendly?

Hi Samantha, thanks for your comments. Yes I love pencil skirts too! As for more trendy office styles I plan to do more posts like that in the future. It’s great when people comment as I can get a steer what to post. You might also like my post T Re: My Third Piece. I tend to wear a lot of skirt and blouse/shirt combos and I find throwing on some form of waistcoat adds to the outfit. I hope this helps. Thanks again, T ????
