  • T Re: Underwear

Following on from my post T RE: LOUNGEWEAR NIGHTWEAR I thought I’d do a post on underwear. Your outfit can only look as good as the base you put on underneath. So, if your underwear isn’t up to scratch chances are your look won’t be either.

Believe me, I know from experience. I’ve taken quite a few outfit photos since I started blogging, every now and again I’ll spot a photo and think, is that VPL (visible panty line) of wtf is going on with my bra. My underwear drawer has far too many veterans and hints of Primani’s finest.

So now I’m looking for more and better.

M&S – this shop is definitely a staple, they have comfortable items anyone can wear. I personally am a big fan of T-shirt bras and the fact you can get a packet of two for less than £20 is fabulous. I like this brand for work bras, stuff you wear all the time and don’t have to think twice about throwing in the washing machine. There’s something for everyone, prices are affordable and the range is extensive. So if you’re not looking for street cred from your underwear brand then this may be for you.

    1. M&S Collection 2 Pack Padded Full Cup T-Shirt Bra A-DD

    2. M&S Collection Padded Full Cup T-Shirt Bra A-E part of a set with the matching No VPL High Rise Shorts

    3. If you like lace basics, try these M&S Collection Floral Jacquard Lace Underwired Full Cup Bra A-DD

    4. If you’re looking for something a bit more glam then this Lace Padded Balcony Bra and matching Knickers from the Rosie for Autograph range might be up your street.

& Other Stories – lots of lace with little padding. The pieces from Stories definitely offer a French flare, with lace and sheer styles. I would describe this as your everyday lingerie brand. These are not your average bra and pants, they are beautiful sexy pieces of lingerie and I dare any women not to feel sexy wearing this stuff under a suit.

    5. They still have padded bras, still lacy and French inspired but definitely cute – here

    6. A slightly darker nude. I’m very happy to see this shade of bra, as someone who is dark skinned, in the past it’s been more difficult to find actual nudes for my skin tone. This T-shirt bra looks like it might just work – here

The knickers start from £11 and are just as lacy as the bras. I particularly like the Scallop Lace Trim Briefs for everyday.

Boux Avenue – the underwear shop of my dreams. Honestly if I could kit out my entire bottom drawer, all in one go, with this stuff then I’d be a happy lady. I only own one bra from them so far. I bought it a couple of years ago and it still looks new. I plan to get more from here and it’s only through researching this post that I remember why. The quality is amazing and the variety is huge with bras, bralettes, shapewear, body suits, knickers, Loungewear and matching sets all well stocked. Here’s a few on my wish list and they have sales all the time.

    7. Microfibre t-shirt bra

    8. Sleek Lace Balconette Bra

    9. If you’re in to low neck lines, but don’t want to give up the support you get from wearing a bra then I’d give the Sexy padded low plunge U bra a try

Agent Provocateur – this is where you go for something extra special. This brand is not what I would put in the affordable bucket, but the pieces are beautiful. If you’re getting married or you have a special occasion or, if you have the coins and are simply celebrating everyday life then this is for you. For me, full sets are the way with this shop. One day when you’re feeling flush and want to treat yourself, why not get a pretty two-piece or something a bit different like my top pick below.

10 – Felinda Slip in Black

What are your favourite underwear shops? I’m keen to discover more!
