06772E8E-77D9-4399-A99E-DF0080F8422AIn this post I’ll be reviewing a Deciem brand called The Ordinary. Since I started my blog in June, I’ve been reading up on skin care and have discovered the importance of having an actual routine. Your face is on show everyday and unlike your body, you can’t really protect your face with clothes and I would not suggest we all walk around in balaclavas, makeup is way too much fun for that, ha!

If you check out my post T Re: Skincare  you can see my whole routine, but now I’ve made an addition. I mentioned in that post that I wanted to try Hyalauronic acid, well it’s an ingredient in my Indie Lee toner, which I also love, but when I found out I could get it in the form of a serum and not have to break the bank, I was all over it.

When you think of an acid, you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking this means peeling, but this is not the case for hyauloronic acid. At the most extreme you can get it injected as fillers in to your face. Eh, no thanks! I decided to go for the serum. Used over time, you get pumper firmer skin, it’s good for wrinkles basically. I don’t have any, but prevention is the best cure, right! I really like the look of this brand. I feel like they just want to provide good products at affordable prices for this range. Why should these things be so expensive!

While I was picking up the above skincare treat, I remembered I ran out of my Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. Now whilst this product doesn’t necessarily offend me, it’s decent stuff and does stay on, but for some reason I’ve been reluctant to repurchase. It dries a bit lighter than you would hope, but does that mean I should go up a shade? It was pure impulse that I tried The Ordinary’s Foundation, but at £6 a bottle, I was like yassss!!!! I bought shade 3.2 N (Deep).

Anyway, I would describe it as full coverage. It’s long wearing and definitely something I’d use again. Even better, there’s SPF protection. I see this as my everyday foundation now. It gives me a bit of room in the budget to try a more expensive brand knowing that it will last a little longer as I won’t need to wear it to work.
