It’s that time of year, we are either starting to feel festive and looking forward to all the socials in the month to come, or you’d rather fast forward to New Year’s Day when it’s all over. Either way, and it’s not like I need and excuse, but seasonal outfits are definitely on my mind.
I’ve been browsing the net, as I usually do and I’ve come up with some ideas to help take decision out of what to wear this party season
Suits – suits are no longer just boring structured office attire. They now come in an array of colours and textures that take you out of the board room and put you centre stage on the dance floor. I’m really loving velvet and embellished blazers at the moment. There is something so luxurious about velvet, not something you wear everyday and softer than fresh linen. As for the sparkly blazers, well surely you can’t look more expensive than like you’re dripping in diamonds.
Blazer Dress – for me this is the simplest option. Go for a statement pattern or fabric to add a bit of extra edge. Alternatively, choose something simple and make a statement with bold accessories.
Satin Perfection – satin, silk, which ever. The way this material skims the body is so alluring and seductive. Team it with an overdose blazer if you don’t fancy the spaghetti straps. It’s a great one to have in the wardrobe, wear it in the day time with an oversized jumper. See my post here on knits and skirts to get a feel for the look.
Leather Luxe – now, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I love a leather piece or two. Always have really. Leather dresses are the one for me right now. I remember wearing one on Christmas Day last year and I’ll no doubt get it out again this season. Faux leather or real, whatever you preference, I think it’s a wardrobe staple.
The Jumpsuit – another easy option, but again super chic. I’m gutted I didn’t pick up a fabulous wool one I spotted online at mango the other week. I love the wide legs. Don’t get me wrong, I love a skinny jean, but the silhouette of wide leg and cinched waist is a fave of mine.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. Let me know if you’ve took inspo from anything, comment below.
