  • T Re: Weekly Roundup #3 + A Sustainable Shirt Dress

So another week bites the dust. Time is literally going so fast, this is my third roundup already and I’m really enjoying writing them. So what’s been going on this week? I’ve been eating out and looking at sustainable dresses….

    Eating out

On Tuesday, I went for lunch with my team at Dishoom in Shoreditch. The food is authentic Indian, but you can still get your chicken tikka, ha! The All Day menu is set up so you can have small plates, almost like Indian tapas, but the main meals are also a great size. I had lamb samosas and some fried prawns with roti (I’m not a saucy kinda girl in general so I picked drier things on purpose). I’d really recommend it, especially for lunch, but you need to book in advance as the queue is usually a mile long. That old cafe vibe that the place gives off is not only endearing, but comfortable, I think we could have sat there chatting for ages. If you like Coke try the Thums Up, it’s slightly spiced, but delicious!

    Get you Coffee

A colleague and I visited Taylor St Baristas, it was his recommendation, but I wasn’t disappointed. I couldn’t be talked in to ordering the flat white though and stuck to my normal vanilla latte. Whether you’re in New York or London, there’s likely to be a Taylor St near by. I intend to visit others, I want to see if there is a mini rave behind the counter, like at the Liverpool st branch. Come on who doesn’t like a few club classics with they’re afternoon coffee, they even have disco lights.

    The Outfit

My favourite outfit this week has to be this Grey Shirt Dress from Vera Moda that I picked up online from Zalando. It’s this super soft Denim, not stiff at all and it’s made from Lyocell which is a sustainable material. If you understood my day job you’d know I’m all for that. As always, I used a belt to cinch it in a bit at the waist and threw on my Zara Biker Jacket, which actually did not go in the sale at all this winter, I plan to have mine for next year – definitely the most worn coat of the cold season. Anyway, I paired the outfit with some standard black ankle boots from Jones that I’ve had for years.

Where has this shop been all this time, I know I’m late for everything, but I only discovered Zalando over Christmas when my younger cousins were talking about places they shop. Totally get it now, there’s like a million saved favourites on my account.

I plan to do a post on finding my signature style and a lot of it will be to do with knowing what colours suit you. If there’s anything specific you want in that post let me know and I’ll do the research!

I hope you’re enjoying the Weekly Roundups, I can’t wait to post more outfits, but I’ve really been taking my time to figure out what I like again and didn’t want to buy loads of random tat.
